Savings program for deployed military that doubles your money?

08 Jun

I am in the Army, and someone who’s deployed told me that there is a program the army has for when you deploy, where you put however much money into it, and the army matches it, and so when you get back to the states, you draw the money and its twice as much as what you put in.

Example:

I put in $100 a month, the Army matches that with another $100 a month, so when I withdraw it, the amount is $2,400 instead of $1,200.

Any information on this program?

What to send a deployed soldier in Iraq now a days? He’s at camp victory so I assume they have everything?

08 Jun

Ok so now that I read online, soldiers out in Iraq esp. in Camp Victory have more than what a walmart here has to offer. Do soldiers still want the stuff they used to ask for like personal hygeine stuff, socks, under shirts. I even send snacks, is this just not worth sending anymore.

Any active marines that are non infantry that have not been deployed?

05 Jun

Hi, My hubby is going to be graduating from bootcamp in a month. His mos is data systems and he is a E2. I am just wondering if there is any active non infantry that have not been deployed? I know i know he is a marine, He is trained to fight, If they need him he will go. I know and knew that when he signed up.. I am just curious if there are some Marines who have not gotten deployed? Thanks.
again. I know he could go. I know plenty of people who use to be in the military that never got deployed. It is a simple question and i do not think it is very nice to be so rude. Why even answer with sarcasm or mean remarks, does it make you feel cool??? I mean really. It is a simple question in need of a simple answer. If you do not like the question or think it is dumb please feel free to move on to the next question. Thanks!

How to talk to a deployed soldier?

04 Jun

So I was just wondering how everyone else talks to their deployed “someone.” I know about Skype and phone cards, but I’m looking for all the possibilities. We aren’t sure if there will be wi-fi or what phone/internet usage will be like. Cell phone would be optimal, but I’m thinking that’s a little unrealistic.
PLEASE give me all your suggestions! I will GREATLY appreciate them! :)

How long after a Marine Corps Reserve Units is activated is it deployed?

03 Jun

If all goes well I hope to be apart of the 2nd Battalion, 23rd Marines, 4th Marine Division by mid November. The unit was activated December 1st to go to Iraq. If it was activated then, when will it most likely deploy? Is there an average amount of time?

How often are Marine Corps intelligence units deployed?

31 May

I’m in the process of enlisting into the Marine Corps under Intel Specialist, and I was just wondering how often and where I will be likely deployed. I have already taken the ASVAB and scored a 92, and have already qualified physically and everything. I am enlisting for active duty. I have heard that Intel people are hard to come by and therefore deployed often, but I’d like to get an idea of how often and where to…Any helpful answers are greatly appreciated, thank you.
