Savings program for deployed military that doubles your money?

I am in the Army, and someone who’s deployed told me that there is a program the army has for when you deploy, where you put however much money into it, and the army matches it, and so when you get back to the states, you draw the money and its twice as much as what you put in.
Example:
I put in $100 a month, the Army matches that with another $100 a month, so when I withdraw it, the amount is $2,400 instead of $1,200.
Any information on this program?
Second interview for Hiring Coordinator position at bank?

Good afternoon all. I had an interview yesterday for a Hiring Coordinator position at a bank. The position’s base responsibility is the recruiting and hiring of hourly employees for 15 branch locations. Positions such as tellers, loan officers, etc. But, I would also assist in other facets of HR, such as job description writing, researching employment law issues, and updating the company personnel policy.
Here’s the question. I have been invited back for a second interview in a couple of weeks. The VP of HR whom I interviewed with said this interview would be more of a “grill session” wherein she’d ask me scenario questions. What I’d do in certain situations.
I have experience working as an HR consultant for city and county govenment, but have never worked for a bank. Anyone in the industry, or familiar with the industry, have an idea on type of scenario questions I should expect and how I should respond to those questions?

I recently learned, in great detail, of the horrific atrocities occurring in Africa involving child use for military purposes. I would like to know how others and myself can with the demobilization and rehabilitation of these children. Please give me a link or some sort of way to contact a legitimate organization dedicated to this purpose.
What to send a deployed soldier in Iraq now a days? He’s at camp victory so I assume they have everything?

Ok so now that I read online, soldiers out in Iraq esp. in Camp Victory have more than what a walmart here has to offer. Do soldiers still want the stuff they used to ask for like personal hygeine stuff, socks, under shirts. I even send snacks, is this just not worth sending anymore.

The Obamas are going on vacation over Memorial Day Weekend. His 2nd vacation since the oil spill has wreaked havoc on the southern gulf states. He will not be at Arlington National Cemetery to honor our Veterans.
Our military is probably glad that the appeaser-in-chief won’t be there to apologize for our victories. Do you agree?

Why is their such a celebration of losers in Hollywood movies?

It seems most movies (which is the number one medium we tell stories about ourselves as a culture) celebrate losers. Actors play roles of people who are doing drugs, are against police, if they are military they are against the war thinking of going AWOL to Canada, and if they are ‘black’ movies they are gangsters, pimps.
There are not many if any movies about people who work jobs to provide for their families, let’s say boring jobs. If they work jobs, that is all they do, and ignore their family with the movie ending in the guy throwing his cellphone in the ocean. If the movie is about a cop, he is a jaded cop who is disenchanted by the corrupt law. If the movie is about a soldier, then the Army is evil and tests mysterious substances on its own soldiers, or the Army rapes females, or some general kills his own troops rather than do the right thing.
If you are an impressionable teenager, you see your favorite actors praising and doing drugs. People rebelling against oh this evil system. Stories of noble can do wrong native americans slaughtered for no reason by pure evil troops. Capitalism is evil and so is America. That theme is recurring in Avatar – Dances with Wolves in CGI.
Movies are the number one way to influence our people.
Their mind-set then plays into the direction that government and policy goes.
If we deliberately try to make our society stupider and direct them into loserdom, we should not be surprised if our politics suffer as a result.
My alternative – how about a movie for a guy who works hard, and has fun, loves his wife and children, doesn’t cheat, and is an honorable person?
His challenges can be doing the right thing when so many do the wrong thing. So it would not be all rozy – life is not easy but that does not mean do drugs, dont work and complain, it means you should fight harder.

I’ve been in Germany for a little over 2 years (my husband is in the Army), and I’m not sure of what the sales tax is in Illinois anymore. I’m planning on buying something large. My mom is going to go to the store for me, and I want to be able to calculate how much, INCLUDING tax, that I need to send her. I’ve looked online, and I can’t find anything. I’m not sure if I’m just looking in the wrong places or not. LOL
