Soldier Move

I enlisted in the United States Army in August of 2009. I did this because my boyfriend was not working and I had just recently got laid off or rather my job ended. I was employed by the United States Census. I went into the recruitment office because I felt like it was my only option since I have an 8 year old daughter. They told me that the people at my Basic and AIT would take care of me and I’m good. They told me I’d be able to have my living expenses, childcare expenses and everything taken care of for me and that females don’t fight in the war. How can they be able to lie about something as serious as this? I have a baby and I didn’t know about all of the stuff that happened to me and the things I had to go through. I would’ve never signed anything. But anyway I did and my boyfriend didn’t want me there cause I was around a whole lot of guys and stuff. He would constantly say I was cheating in basic and stuff but I find out he was the one on the computer, when i was gone to basic, looking to get laid. Before I found out about what he was doing, I decided that I didn’t want to loose my family after having to be away from them for so long during AIT and basic, so I just picked up and left.

I’m not asking anyone to feel sorry for me or anything. I even have a battle buddy of mine asking questions for me to see how I might be able to come back and fix this. I am not a felon. This is the first mark on my record. I regret every minute of everything. I wanted the money and pretty much is why I joined. Honestly, I am not the least bit patriotic but it is what it is. I have a lot of people that are proud of my contribution to the safety of the American People. I also have people that just can’t stand me because of it. It’s hard to please everyone and to just stay sane. I am going crazy. Well anyway, my so called boyfriend spent all my money and now i’m stuck out here with nothing which is my only reason for feeling foolish. I’m ready to turn myself in. I want to stay and finish out my contract. I am torn between trying to have a career and trying to have a family. I thought I could have both if I joined. So far, I’m seeing it’s not true. I am a grown woman and I am truly sorry for what I have done. I am also willing and able to accept my punishment. I don’t want to be discharged. I was at my duty station for only 3 weeks b4 I left. i had just graduated AIT in February of this year. I’m scared. I don’t want to go to jail. I want to turn myself in, pay my debts and then move on with a clear conscience and a clear record.

I’ve read on hear some individuals saying turn yourself into the police. I’ve also read that I can turn myself into a recruiter. I don’t have any money to go back to my duty station. I mean, I don’t want to have to go to jail if I go to the police station. I would go to the recruiter station right now if they can help to get me back on track and back to where I need to be so that I can still serve the people that are proud of their soldiers.

I’m sure somebody on here is gonna call me a fool. Stupid. An idiot. A moron. A jerk off. I mean, whatever. I’ve called myself this over and over ever since I’ve put myself in this situation. My boyfriend was the one doing all the talking for me with my 1st srgt, my csm and everyone else. I should not have let him do that. He told them we were gonna leave. Just came right out and said it. If anyone can offer any kind of advice on any what I wrote please share. I am open and willing to hear what ever comments you guys have.

Some moments were bad in there but a lot were good. I was actually satisfied for once in my life about the direction in which my life was going. I don’t even think I gave it that much time or anything. I was only in the real Army for about 4 weeks before I left.
