Marines go through boot camp not basic training..There is not a guarantee that you will deploy .Some units never deploy, while others are on a 14 month cycle meaning they are home for 14 then deploy for 7 months..Other units deploy for six months then are home for a year but may deploy to other areas in this time..Its impossible for anyone to answer your question without knowing what unit and what MOS you are…There are schools in the USMC that last more than a year…so you would not deploy for a while if you were ever going to deploy

when/if you get deployed is all going to depend on the unit that you get sent to, and their status because obviously if they just got back off a deployment you are going to have a little while before you get deployed with them but if their number is up when you get there then you are going with them and thats true for the army too so its really hard to say with certainty but you can look up the unit and see when they were deployed to get a better guage of where they are on the whole deployment thing

Under the current administration and if McCain is elected, chances are 100%, all earlier procedures are out the door, bank on it……

it just depends on the unit you are in. But after bootcamp you go to MCT. which is feild training. For the infantry, this is their last step before getting stationed. For other jobs, you will go to MCT and then MOS school. So sometime the infantry can deploy about six months after bootcamp. Remember the deployement training (at 29 palms) is about 3 months. So you can kind of add it together. But some unite dont even deploy. So it just depends. But figure about 6 months at the least, before deploying

before any overseas deployment, there are a series of classes and innoculations that must be administered, you must complete at least a level seven training, and all of these things take time, not likely to get an overseas deployment directly out of boot camp, usually you are looking at 2-3 years befoer deployment, not only that but after basic you still have school to attend for your mos and some mos’ require more than 1 school, you might spend 3-5 years getting trained for your mos
